Barb Hobbs is no Stephen Spielberg and Arnold Bilney is no Brad Pitt but it did not deter them from the challenges of producing and fronting Peter Harrison’s camera to capture stories of our town . Peter is devoted to filming stories of rural WA but Kojonup holds a special place in his heart, having lived there as a child and young man. Craig McVee also fronted the camera to tell the Noongar perspective on each of these stories of the past and Graeme Hobbs made cameo appearances as a vital ‘extra’. The four films that are now in the ‘processing room’ are part of the endeavours of various members of the community to capture on film the people and places that can best tell the stories related to Kojonup’s past. The short films will form part of the film library that is building for both the touchscreens and the intranet planned for The Kodja Place’s Storyplace area. Four stories have emerged: ‘Why we are here” , ‘Kojonup’s First European Farmers’, ‘What about Water’ and ‘Building from the Bush’.
